Weekly Bulletin - February 19th

Cornerstone Church,

Who is the LORD?

Exodus 5:1-2  1 Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, "Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.' "  2  And Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, nor will I let Israel go."

Moses knew God. Maybe better than most of the people of the Bible, Moses knew God. He had run from Him, been confronted by Him, he argued with Him, he followed Him, led for him and spoke on behalf of Him. Moses knew God. Pharaoh on the other hand did not know God. This claim by pharaoh was not only ill advised, it was ominous of what was to come. Pharoah would come to know God in ways that would make us shudder. He would come to know God by opposing God and receiving judgment.

We go out and about this week as God’s people. Those who have met with God, been redeemed by Him, doing our best to follow Him and represent Him. Many that we will encounter are in pharaoh’s category. They would argue that they do not know God and thus are not accountable to Him. Nothing could be further from the truth. One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father. One day they will know God, not as Savior but as Judge.

Let’s do our best to meet each individual this week with the perspective that they either know God as Savior and Lord, or know Him as Judge. Let us bring the Word of God to them, so that they can know His mercy and grace, so that they may know Him as Savior.

What's New?

Exciting Growth!

Our attendance continues to grow, not just on Sundays, but in our small groups, AWANA, and our youth group. This is incredibly exciting, so we ask that you continue to be in prayer for us as a church. Pray that we will be faithful as the Lord instructs us, pray that we will follow as He leads us, and pray that we will be eager as He uses us.

Psalm 100:1-51Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2Serve the Lord with gladness; come before His presence with singing. 3Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
