Weekly Bulletin - April 9th

Cornerstone Church,

1 John 1:1-3 "1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life-- 2  the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- 3that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ."

The world seems to be filled with claims of truth by numerous people and agendas which are often hard to discern. However, every once in a while someone comes forward with a truth claim that is so verifiable that it literally demands a thorough examination. Such is the claim by John the Beloved, a Disciple of Jesus. More than anyone alive at the time of this letter, (90 AD) John knew the claims made about Jesus and wrote to establish truth before leaving the scene.
John pushed back against *Docetism, *Gnosticism, and *Antinomianism, emphasizing the incarnate deity of Jesus, the importance of moral living, and the centrality of love in the life of a believer.

Let’s live in love this week, just like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

What's New?

Happy Easter!!!

He is risen! Praise the Lord, Jesus did not stay in that tomb! He rose again and conquered sin and death. So what does that mean for us? It means EVERYTHING has been changed. We don't question who the Savior is or will be. We don't wonder how we'll be set free. We don't question what the purpose of all of this is.

Jesus was not just a man. He was not just a rebel. He IS redeemer. He IS Messiah. He IS the Great I AM.

This means we know the truth that we serve the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. It means we can live a life confident that we don't have to be slaves to sin and temptation. We can be confident that Jesus changes us and resurrects us, right now spiritually and one day physically.

If you are a follower of Christ, then we encourage you to be bold in your witness. Share the Good News of the Gospel with those around you. Don't stop telling people about Jesus just because there isn't an Easter service to invite them to until next year. Spend time with people, create relationships, and share Christ with them.

He is risen. Spread the Good News. He is coming soon.
