Weekly Bulletin - March 26th

Cornerstone Church,

God had called His people to Go into the wilderness, to Sacrifice and Serve and Worship. Yet, there were five compromises in worship that pharaoh proposed to Moses. These are a constant struggle in the hearts of followers of Christ on Sunday after Sunday. Let’s review real quick, but if you missed church this past Sunday, it would be good to go back and listen to the message to get the whole application.

1.      There’s work that must be done
Exodus 5:4 (NKJV) "4Then the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you take the people from their work? Get back to your labor."
Work often gets in the way of worship. When we are employed by secular companies, they often do not give consideration to the need for worship and soul care. The bottom line is their goal, their god.  If we allow it, work will quickly take the place of worship in our lives.

2.      Sacrifice in the Land

Exodus 8:25 (NKJV) "Pharaoh called for Moses & Aaron, and said, "Go, sacrifice to your God in the land."
Worship can be accomplished Anywhere, right? Compromise calls us to set aside gathering with God’s people to just appreciate God on the lake, the beach, or the golf course. But obedience calls us to gather together as believers for mutual exhortation.

3.      Go but don’t go too far
Exodus 8:28 (NKJV) "28And Pharaoh said, "I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me."
Don’t become a fanatic! It is okay to go all in when it comes to sports, or hobbies, work or school… but don’t go all in. Hold back, don’t get too religious. Keep some of those bad habits, those ties to the old life. He gave all for us, we should give all to Him. He left Heaven for us, we should leave this world because of Him.

4.       Let the men go alone
Exodus 10:7 & 11 (NKJV) "7Then Pharaoh's servants said to him, "How long shall this man be a snare to us? Let the men go, that they may serve the LORD their God. Do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?”…11Not so! Go now, you who are men, and serve the LORD, for that is what you desired."
Don’t bring others along to worship, especially your families. What a crazy call to compromise, yet the enemy tells us it is okay to see worship as personal, not valuable. If it is important for you to worship, don’t you think it is important to raise your kids to worship. We should not give our enemy the ground in this battle for the spiritual life of our families.

5.      Go but leave your wealth
Exodus 10:24 (NKJV) "24Then Pharaoh called to Moses and said, "Go, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be kept back. Let your little ones also go with you."
Pharaoh knew that without livestock shepherds are just vagabonds. Their livestock were more than their living, they were their life. Our offerings to God are representative of our living, but also of ourselves. Our all. First fruits means that He is first in our life.

The Excitement Is "Building

We have some great news to share with you about the building project.
First, we have had some great conversations with our general contractor (GC) and site supervisor to work through some of the finer details of the project. Also, we have started identifying some of our trades and engineering companies that will be used for various parts of the project and have begun requesting bids for their respective tasks. I am also excited to let you know that we have received our stamped steel building plans and have given a deposit so that our steel order can go to production.
Once all of our plans are finalized, hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we will be reaching out to the county to submit all of our plans and begin working towards being able to pull permits.
Here are some specific prayer requests that you can be lifting up before the Lord:
·       Pray that we things go smoothly with the county as we work through the various approvals and permits.
·      Pray for wisdom and discernment as we research and engage various trades for our project.
·       Pray for safety for all that will be working on our project and that the work can be done quickly.
Thank you all for all you do to support and encourage us all as we work through this incredible project for His glory.
In Christ,
Pastor Tim
