Tomorrow Never Comes
Exodus 8:9-10 (NKJV) 9 And Moses said to Pharaoh, "Accept the honor of saying when I shall intercede for you, for your servants, and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your houses, that they may remain in the river only." 10 So he said, "Tomorrow." And he said, "Let it be according to your word, that you may know that there is no one like the LORD our God.
Why Tomorrow?
The frogs were everywhere. Moses could have written the word "everywhere" and that would not make the point. Everywhere was literally in every place. Verses 3 & 4 tell us, " 3 So the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into your ovens, and into your kneading bowls. 4 And the frogs shall come up on you, on your people, and on all your servants." ' "
Their problem was all consuming. Frogs were in their food, and under their pillow, in their toilet and in their hair. We all can agree that the time to deal with those problems is immediately. Why tomorrow? Let me give us a few possibilities. First of all, Pride. For some crazy reason we hold out in rebellion for as long as we can out of sheer pride. We do not like to admit that we are wrong and do not want to let go in spite of the trouble it has brought upon us. Secondly, Protest. We naturally do not like people telling us what to do and sometimes even to our own hurt, we refuse to do what we are told simply out of protest. Third of all, Pointless Delay. Sometimes we postpone resolving our froggy problems for no reason at all. We simply put off change out of laziness or some other pointless excuse. Finally, Presumption. We think we have tomorrow, that we have all the time in the world to confess our sin, make things right and begin to clean up the sticky slime that frogs inevitably leave behind. Why did Pharaoh choose to have Moses pray for him to be delivered "tomorrow? It may be one of these reasons, all of these reasons or none of the above. But one thing that is true about procrastination is that tomorrow never really comes. Jesus is a God of today.
Hebrews 3:15 (NKJV) 15 while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

What's New?
Spring
As we begin to exit the “winter” months, and enter into Spring, I want to encourage you, Church. Spring is a time of new beginnings, rebirth, and growth. Nature is bouncing back from the cold months where everything was stagnant, students are ending their school-year and looking to the next, and Christians are looking toward the celebration of their Savior who rose from the grave, conquering sin and death.
In the next several weeks leading up to Resurrection Sunday, let’s do some homework together. Let’s study who Jesus is, what His earthly ministry looked like, and why He came to die for sinners like us. I would encourage you to read through the Gospel of John and catch a brief glimpse of Jesus and how He daily sought to glorify His Father, as He taught His disciples to do the same.
Let’s learn from this and strive to do the same, and let’s get ready to celebrate His Resurrection together!
